About YXNGSTAR

YXNGSTAR was built from perseverance, belief, and vision. I grew up in Jamaica and migrated to the United States in 2012, finishing high school in 2015. I experienced homelessness and worked wherever I could — DoorDash, janitorial work in schools and banks, electrical jobs, and labor work — doing whatever it took to keep moving forward. In 2020, the brand was created from a simple drawing on a piece of paper, marking the moment I decided to take my vision seriously. Music is now a passion I pursue as a hobby, and life came full circle when I received a request to be featured on a song with an NBA player — a moment that reaffirmed the phrase, “I’m a star.” The “Yxng” in YXNGSTAR represents legacy and evolution: my father is reggae legend Barrington Levy, and being the age he was in his prime, I see myself as the younger version of that star. Even so, I never leaned on his name or anyone else’s. YXNGSTAR stands for earned success, resilience, and the belief that everyone is a star in their own right.
